Day two

66 miles today. 136 down and 864 to go.. Some very steep ascents (out of Looe and up Dartmoor) but followed by great descents! Top speed? 47 mph. Amazing! Trying for 50 now as that broke my previous record of 40 mph. The sight of the butty van at the top of a steep and long climb up Dartmoor made us all cheer. Negotiated Plymouth on Sustrans Route 27. At least it meant we avoided the town traffic and annoying the motorists... Something we seem to be getting good at the last two days as we've had some negative comments from some of them.. Now at Moreton Hampstead for the night; lovely B&B and got our washing done! Our kit is now drying in the breakfast room.... The landlady doesn't seem impressed by having cyclists descend on her... At The Horse for dinner having yummy pasta and pizza! Got to get our carbs! Oh and the beer and wine we deserve too.. Bit later.. Another beer..
Later!

Please post comments on this blog as we'd love to hear from you!

King's Arms, Torpoint Ferry.

30 miles and we've stopped for lunch. Hilly again! Hill out of Looe caused a traffic tailback with 20 or so cyclists slogging up the hill!

Day one

Beautiful day! Avoided any rain, it had just started to rain as we arrived at Golant YHA. 70 hilly miles today along the gloriously quiet lanes of Cornwall. Took the King Harry ferry over the river Fal. Interesting chain ferry and some huge ships on the river! The chicken is very entertaining. Get on his website to find out more! Chickenonbike.org.uk
